Thank you in advance to all the folks that will suggest Zapier, Buffer, etc. But, this isn’t a normal use case for any of those tools. Also, I don’t want to be for a service. I’m looking for a solution but, to be honest, I’d like to build an open source tool to handle the DIY Buffer using IFTTT I’ve cobbled together (and has worked just fine for YEARS). But, I don’t have the skills to do it nor the time, even if I did. If you’re interested in working on such a project, let me know. I tweeted midweek that I likely shortened my lifespan at KubeCon this week and I wasn’t sure why. It was a net negative experience for me. The people are great. I love meeting contributors and teaching new folks how to contribute. But, the problems that had to be solved on the ground were extreme in some cases. I sent out my unpolished report internally. I will share it when I have the energy to clean it up a lot. I can tell you for certain, I’m not the only one that feels this way. One CNCF Ambassador already hung it up. I have legitimate concerns about the long term viability of Cloud Native Computing Foundation. At this rate of disregard for the communities forming underneath it, the intent seems to get as much money as possible at all costs. It’s frustrating as hell and I’m still mulling what to do. If I end up leaving my CNCF Ambassador title behind, it would free up some time to do more in the community. I will not do a full KubeCon again. ...

Docker gutted itself to stay alive by selling off the money-making bits of the business to Mirantis. Docker states it’s because they have two distinct businesses and they can only focus on one. The Docker that everyone knew is now boiled down to Docker Desktop and Docker Hub. Docker is going to run that with $35 million in cash they got from Mirantis and whatever is left in the bank. In the process, 300 former Docker employees now work for Mirantis (that sucks, they had no say in that). The remaining 100 work for a business that did a 10:1 reverse stock split and revaluation. In essence, Docker sold the farm for peanuts. This also wipes out a lot of value of whatever stock Docker employees were holding on to in hopes of cashing in someday. I feel really bad for the former and current Docker employees. This has to suck for them. With that in mind, if you’re at Docker still and need help finding a better job, updating your resume, or need to figure out what to do next, hit me up. ...
