109: Get Caught Up, Kubernetes in High Demand, Two Monorepos Walk into a Bar, Hashicorp at Home, and More

What a weird week. It started on Wednesday first of all. It felt like half of everyone was still on vacation. It was quiet but, it was busy. There was a lot of great content this week too surprisingly. The time at the end of one year, the beginning of another is awesome. So many folks are taking time to write down their thoughts on everything from note taking during programming to monorepos to Kubernetes to infosec. Read more →

As mentioned last week, I was able to finish my KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA 2018 recap this week. It’s not an exhaustive list of things I did but, it covers the big ones. One point of emphasis for me was to assess the physical toil I managed along the way. It’s important to note that life doesn’t stop because you’re at a conference. Videos from the Kubernetes Contributor Summit are now available too. Read more →

These are some highlights from an e-mail I sent to my colleagues in my business unit titled, “KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA 2018 Recap” “I attended KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA 2018 in Seattle this week. 105: Two Years 🎂, #KubeKhan, CVE-2018-1002105, State of k8s, vim, and More!

DevOps’ish turns two this week. Started on 2016-12-11 as a Medium publication, with an epoch for a subject line, only 632 characters, and no images to be found. A lot has changed but, a lot has stayed the same too. There’s no image again but, it’s not on Medium anymore. There’s a ton of news but, it’s still sourced by me. There’s more people reading and giving feedback but, I’m still grateful for every one of you. Read more →

Did you know that Chef had layoffs? I heard but I didn’t think much of it. This week I got a text from Chris Bailey who told me another friend got laid off from Chef. Well, that sucks. But, wait, I can do something about that, right? I’d like to introduce you to Mark Mzyk (LinkedIn | Twitter). Mark is an, “Engineering Manager looking for his next thing.” Mark handed over Triangle DevOps to Chris Bailey and I. Read more →
