I’m fresh off the plane from DevOpsDays Charlotte 2018 when I’m writing this. I have to say a HUGE thank you to the organizers, sponsors, and speakers. The venue was beyond amazing. Red Ventures knows how to host a crowd in style. I definitely feel like I need to fly out the morning after these events though. Traveling on a Friday is not ideal. It never fails that I end up missing a connection I wanted to make because I just flat out ran out of time.
Read more →I’ve had an absolutely amazing week! I was named a Cloud Native Computing Foundation Ambassador. My friend, Chris Bailey, and I recorded an episode of Techtown’s Discussing DevOps Details (3D) Podcast. I spoke at the Orchestructure January 2018 Meetup about Golang accelerating DevOps. Last, but certainly not least, I was named an opensource.com 2018 People’s Choice Award winner. I also booked travel for Open Source 101 in Raleigh and DevOpsDays Charlotte.
Read more →This week has been a trying week for me. I’ve touched almost every facet of what is important to me both personally and professionally. One kid having surgery, another kid catching a cold, moving into our new home, dealing with Veteran’s Affairs, addressing long-time struggles, new talent starting at work, getting things done, threats to friends on the west coast, threats to friends in Guam, Nazis on the east coast, and I did a lot of community work.

Read more →Sunday, I flew back to NC to help close and move out of our house. It has turned into quite the saga that I won’t bother with trying to explain to everyone. But, having injections on moving day was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The world of DevOps was quite busy this week. Also, several great talks from GopherCon are available in various forms, including my GopherCon 2017 Lightning Talk: Golang to the rescue: Saving DevOps from TLS turmoil.
